Wolf-App Firmware

This page lists Wolf-App firmware releases for the Wolf Gateway product family (Wolf-3Oi3Ro, Wolf-8ADio1Ro, Wolf-2RS485, Wolf-2DALI). One firmware image covers all hardware variants — Wolf-App detects the installed expansion card at boot and configures the I/O mapping automatically. Images are signed by FoxIoT OÜ. The device verifies the signature during installation and rejects unsigned or tampered images.

To install, open the Wolf-App UI, go to System → Firmware, upload the downloaded .itb file, and start the installation. Optionally verify the download with sha256sum against the value in the table above. The device also verifies the digital signature before installing and rejects unsigned or modified images.

Devices in the field receive the same releases through the built-in update service. Entries are added here as new versions are published.

Released: 21 September 2026

• M-Bus meters — the controller finds meters on a wired M-Bus line and reads water, heat and electricity meters without per-meter setup. A meter can also be given a new address or sent a command.
• Wireless M-Bus — meters that send by radio are read through a USB stick, on the same page as the wired ones.
• Email — set up a mail account on the System page, send a test message, and send email from a rule.
• Persistent data — a rule can save values under /persist that survive a power cut or restart: run hours, counters, a meter reading kept from the start of the month. The System page shows how much is stored.
• Rule cards — a rule can show its own settings form, a live status box and a chart, so you configure and watch it in one place. A rule also knows its own id and name, so copies of the same rule keep their settings and status apart.
• Slow rules — a rule marked slow runs on its own engine, so long work no longer holds up the others.
• Users — two roles, and a simple screen an everyday user may open while the rest of the settings stay out of reach.
• Card readers — 34-bit cards and keypad codes are read as well.
• DALI — a light can be made to blink so you can find it, emergency lights included.
• Fixes — a stopped M-Bus scan now keeps what it found, and a meter refusing a command is reported. After upgrading an older controller, the Network page now shows the mobile APN in use instead of a default one. Modbus and rule pages no longer poll twice after a refresh, Modbus settings no longer lose unsaved changes on a reload, a wrong message after an FC16 write is gone, long status text stays on its card, and table columns line up with their headers.

• First publicly published install image.
• Built-in firmware updates — check for a new version from the System page, see what changed, and install it without needing a file. The update installs right away, shows each step while it works, and a single restart finishes it. You can also pick an older version if you prefer.
• Help from an AI assistant — the Lua help now links to the AI Agent Guide, which teaches an assistant how to set the controller up for you.
